Airports

For the longest time, I have been unable to figure out why there are NO clocks in an airport. The designer in me knows they have to be there but my inner child cannot ever find one when needed and demands to know why.
No other place on the face of the earth runs on the clock more than an airport. Something so time-intensive should have plenty of easy to read clocks about. Instead the time can be found only on the departure and arrival screen in 10 pont type. What is the reason for this -- Could it be a maintenance issue - perhaps they are too hard to keep clean and well run?
Am I the only person who has noticed and finds this a problem? Perhaps I should arrive later for my flights so I get right on the plane and won't have or need the time. Perhaps clocks are now the in thing for terrorists and other people don't want to know. I would appreciate it if someone would pay attention to this matter on their next airport project. I would also like to know if anyone has ever visited an airport with lots of clocks or even a clock or two. Please let me know where they are so that I can actively use them?

Colorado has clocks right in front of the terminal shuttle trains that give the time in major cities worldwide - except those in third world countries. I'm not going to point out the implications there but when in Colorado - check their clocks. Also, while in Colorado, see the shuttle train tunnels. There are fun wall sculptures in the tunnels that make the train ride quite a fun experience. Fine attention to detail in the least expected place.

They should have spent that money on more clocks or, perhaps, provide a subsidy to those airports lacking in timepiece funding!
